I teach in a 90% African American school district. Although we have many challenges to overcome, I firmly believe that we, myself, and my colleagues, are capable and prepared to produce a competitive workforce for the 21st century. But for now, my kiddos are just awkward, 8th graders who are excited about learning; they're eager, ambitious, sometimes a bit bombastic, but always sincere and respectful. They want to succeed and are prepared to overcome their obstacles.

About my class
