My school not only helps students to be ready for the rigor of high school curriculum but also prepare them to be an active member of the global society through its science focus. My science students have unique qualities to express their learning. In their science class they enjoy working on hands-on projects and love to find out the solutions to the problems such as global warming (Curricular relation: carbon cycle), conservation of energy (Curricular relation: energy and machines), and waste disposal (Curricular relation: elements, carbon cycle, physical science in everyday life). They are busy making paper/pencil model to minimize carbon footprints, brainstorming ideas to save energy, using scrap papers to design science projects, and researching online material to learn about useful alloys.
