The students in my room are more than just classmates, they are a community of scholars; and know the value of team work. Our class begins each and everyday with the philosophy that we are READY TO LEARN! My fourth graders been encouraged and taught to be independent thinkers; to ask questions and most of all to work collaboratively. They are artists, musicians, techies, readers, writers, scientists, mathematical, historians, and researchers. Our class is made up of a very diverse population. They come from many different cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds. Our school district is large, it services approx.10,000 students. Our district consists of 6 elementary schools, 2 middle schools and 2 High schools. Our school is the smallest within the district, nestled within a neighborhood. We consider our school the best kept secret in the community; a rare gem!
