Our students need to be exposed to more fictional material. This will help our second graders with their narrative writing and story telling. As a school, we are trying to promote curiosity and social acceptance in our classrooms. The idea for this project came about after my students huddled together during recess to discuss what we were reading about in "Charlotte's Web." They could not contain their excitement as they spoke about what they learned about the characters and what they thought was going to happen next. We want our students to be excited about what they are reading and engage their peers in "The Reading Train."
