These books will be life-changing for my students. My students have been clamoring for more books by authors who look like them because it gives them new role models. Since independent reading time was implemented in my weekly lessons, students have been heard saying "This is the first book I finished on my own!" or "Are there more books by this author?" I want to give my students the opportunity to read books that change them and inspire them. As my classroom book supply is limited, my students are requesting more books during our reading block. I want to be able to provide my students with all kinds of books that meet their individual needs, which is why they request books in Spanish, graphic novels, nonfiction text, etc. They are clamoring for more books and I want to be able to keep up with them!
