I plan to use a mobile library filled with inspiring, diverse stories to bring the love of independent reading to my students. This fun project won’t just help my struggling readers gain confidence and improve their reading skills, but will also help higher-level readers find and share stories that they love as well. Why mobile? I work in several different classrooms and would love to take my little library on the go! Students will be able to check out a book to read at school or at home. Students will also be able to request books on topics they’re interested in reading. I plan to include classic stories, bestsellers and books that align with topics they learn about in their current curriculum. I also plan to highlight age-appropriate stories once a month that align with different causes such as Women’s History Month and Black History Month. By donating to this project, you will be helping my students increase their literacy and find the love of reading!
