In class we emphasize the importance of understanding others in order to build a better society. I have experienced it myself, coming to the USA 22 years ago, and my identity has been enriched by every single person who has crossed my path. We believe that respecting others and understanding differences is an essential tool for our global society. I just found this amazing book "Just Ask" (Sólo Pregunta) by Sonia Sotomayor. This book celebrates the different abilities kids (and people from all ages) have. I would love to order 30 copies for my students. I believe this book will make them grow as human beings compassion and understanding.
