Learning skills and concepts while simultaneously learning English is tough! With the language barrier, the more hands on approach to learning notes, duration and composition, the easier it is for students to comprehend and retain. Along with better comprehension and retention, hands on learning is just plain fun! My students love using not only bean bags etc., but their own bodies as part of the "Music staff". This carpet allows them not only to see but to feel and internalize the concepts of high, low, long, short, and as they are hopping from note to note- that learning is fun!
