We are a fairly large small-town school surrounded by several farming communities. Students from four different elementary schools feed into our middle school. I teach sixth grade social studies, and I have approximately 130 students over six periods throughout the day. Some of my children are well-prepared for class, however many of them lack the necessary supplies for school. Since we have a large low socioeconomic population, many of my students are on free or reduced lunch. We have already gone through two wall-mounted pencil sharpeners and many hand-held sharpeners. With this new heavy duty pencil sharpener, my students will be able to keep their pencils sharpened without the hassle and stress of fighting the broken sharpeners! I have used up all my pencil supply, so I am constantly struggling to keep pencils on hand for my needy students! I need pencil power!
