To Anyone and Everyone Who Believes That Every Child Can Learn and Grow: I have an extraordinary group of students that I get to work with daily. I am constantly impressed by their candor, insights and tenacity. Being a teacher in a Type-2 Charter School in New Orleans, I am faced with many realities, which include budget restrictions on how many books we can purchase for the academic year. As of now, I only have 30 copies of each novel that all 80 of my students must share from. This unfortunate reality has been a huge impediment to ensuring that I can provide students with tools to truly push reading growth. My dream is to eventually build a grade level set of each novel we study for the academic year, so that students can have his or her own copy of the book to take home. Your contribution will help make my dream a reality. I appreciate your time, and my students thank you.
