Our school is a therapeutic day school who serves students from K through 8th grade. The staff's task is to provide emotional support and academic instruction to children who have been unable to succeed in community school settings due to emotional, learning, and behavioral difficulties. The majority of our students live at a residential children's home and are wards of the state. Our school runs as a trauma-informed program, aiming to help our students learn new social-emotional strategies to help them maneuver their daily lives successfully. Despite the challenges that our students face, they are full of life and are endearing! I am lucky to have the opportunity to work with my students, they always teach me as much as I hope I will be able to teach them. I enjoy working together with the students and staff to form a safe and fun learning community.
