With these instruments, each student in Grades 3-5 will receive at least 9 weeks of instruction learning basic chords, strumming patterns, and songs to sing along with. Ukulele is a wonderful instrument to be played and enjoyed in its own right, and it is an instrument which students will happen upon in "the wild." When students see ukuleles in gifts shops and music stores, they will instantly be able to pick them up and play meaningful music. Giving students skills on this instrument will allow them the joy of playing, but it will also give them stepping stones toward future success on other instruments.
