This World Music Drumming curriculum will bring West African and Caribbean cultures to life in my classroom. Many of my students have cultural connections to these places and experiencing the music first hand will help them build a connection, understanding and respect for each other and our diverse backgrounds. World Music Drumming curriculum will help to foster teamwork, respect, listening skills, complement, ensemble and leadership, which will help them be successful in all they do in the future. We are fortunate to have drums to use in the classroom, but young students struggle to hold our Djembe. The stands and straps will make them more accessible.
