This project will help students see how science and music go together. I can't wait to see them discover how the size and thickness of the strings and boomwhackers affect the sound they produce. This is my first year at this school and when I found the guitars in my storage closet, I leapt for joy but my heart quickly sank when I found their strings have withered away to nothing. Putting these amazing instruments in the hands of my students with a fresh set of strings will take them to new heights. Perhaps it will cultivate a new generation guitarist and musicians. Adding Boomwhackers in the instrument inventory will bring new ways for my students to play, composer, and enjoy music each and every class! They will be able to experience how science and music go hand in hand.
