Summit scholars need keyboard pianos to enhance their exploration of music. The music program at our school is designed as a comprehensive, standards-based course of study that will allow scholars to become musically literate. Music education helps scholars express and interpret meaning. Through music, scholars increase their awareness of rich and diverse cultures, beliefs, and societies of humankind. As scholars examine the role of music throughout history and in different cultures, they develop a respect for diversity. Our course study will provide a comprehensive framework for music. The framework will contain what students should know and be able to do as a result of instruction at each grade level or from a specific course. Content and skills are not limited to particular materials or methodology and can be delivered through multiple approaches and materials. Music is anything but "extracurricular." Music classes offer many benefits, which make them very indispensable. Performance programs enhance a student's sense of self-esteem as well as their social skills. Scholars become a part of a positive group and organization. Not only do scholars profit socially from music programs, but they also gain academically. Your donation will allow us to design a full music room with 20 keyboards, music stands and stools for scholars to learn and grow.
