I am a public school teacher in a suburb right outside of Chicago. I teach around 110 6th graders and 30 7th graders. Two clubs that I sponsor are S.T.E.M. (Sceince, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and Photography. We have a very strong sense of community in our district, which is quite large. Teaching in a very diverse neighborhood has enabled my students to learn with an open mind. This has also allowed me ample opportunities to tie in their cultures within my teaching.
