Adding regulation tools to my classroom will give my students outlets for their energy and emotional needs! The wobble stools will help students vent extra energy during small group work. This will allow them to move their bodies while keeping their minds engaged in the activity. For my students that need help building core strength due to their disability, the stools will help them keep their core engaged while sitting to work on posture and balance. The stools are also mobile and can be moved to different work areas within my classroom if needed to help a student focus at different centers. The emotions rug will give a large visual to help students learn more about identifying their feelings to help them name their emotions! Once they can name what they are experiencing, we can help them learn appropriate responses to get their needs met! The Lego emotions kit will be a great activity to discuss emotions and feelings while doing something with their hands. The boys I work with love building with Legos so this activity will be a great extension tool to engage them in meaningful conversation about their emotions and discuss ways that are socially appropriate to get their needs met in a safe way.
