I try to teach them that they deserve an education and a successful future. When I first moved in to my new classroom, I was very excited even though there was a persistent smell and the old carpet was stained. I was excited because I only see the potential to make my classroom a home away from home for my students. They love to read on the carpet, they are most comfortable and productive if they sit or lay down with a good book. A new classroom carpet will ensure that they have a good clean carpet to do their work. We have a lot of learning to do and when students feel worthy and comfortable learning can then commence.
