I teach in a rural, public high school in Montana. We have approximately 200 students from a variety of backgrounds. We are classified as a high poverty school, and have students from all backgrounds. About 40% attend college, although from what I have seen, many more could and would attend college if they became more aware of their talents and felt they could afford the tuition. This is my fifth year teaching at this high school.(Although I have been teaching for 35+ years.) I want these students to realize their potential- whether that is in college or a career. Even more so I want them to love learning; to see the challenge and reward of it.
