The enthusiastic, energetic and eager to learn first graders in my class are so excited about entering their first real grade of learning here in Illinois!!! From the moment we started school, they have been on a quest to work hard and get smart!! We are located in a public, inner city school in Illinois. Our goal as a class is to have 90% of students on or above grade level by our 3rd quarter. We are determined to reach this goal!! Learners in our class are at many different levels of learning and we know this your kind donations could help us as educators meet each of our students where they are in their progress! Currently, over 70% of the students in our class are not on grade level in their reading and math ability. Students that leave 1st grade unable to read are likely to graduate from high school on a 7th grade reading level and we want this to change!
