I'm a true believer in bringing Science alive for my students! From to the 15 jars of specimens, fossilized rocks and organisms to our pet snake "Fluffy," from day 1 in my classroom my students are immersed in what we call "the science life." Over 80% of my students come from economically struggling homes, so when they come to school, a lot of the time they are already fighting bigger battles no child should so I make my classroom a safe space where they know no matter what's going on elsewhere, they're free to learn there. I have a passion for science and all the mysteries that are still out there and have loved sharing that passion with my students for the last few years. We engage in hands-on, student initiated learning opportunities on a daily basis, where I challenge them to think for themselves and create new understanding in a way that best suits their learning style.
