I feel having a variety of different books with different topics, genres and levels will help peak the interests of all students to feel motivated to want to strengthen their reading skills. Working with students with dyslexia, students who are English Language Learners, and students who are struggling with foundational reading skills, I have found that having a variety of resources and texts that help every student become motivated and excited about reading is key. I strive to have a “safe” and inviting place for all students to come and find something that they want to read or learn about to become self directed and eager to learn more without feeling overwhelmed.
