Navigating emotions both big and small can feel like an impossible task for some preschool aged students. Relatable, fun, and engaging books such as the 'Spot' series help guide these little learners on how to work through these big feelings. Tantrums, emotional outbursts, and other distracting behaviors often occur among students of this age because they do not yet possess the tools needed to communicate or regulate how they feel, why they feel that way, or what they need. This is often the case among the students in my classroom. By donating to this project, you will help equip these little learners with the tools to express and understand the wide range of emotions they are experiencing. These books and calming kit will provide a better understanding and opportunity for my students to communicate their needs with myself and their caregivers while learning how to self regulate their emotions. These books also provide more story time opportunities which in turn, provide opportunities for more bonding experiences among myself, students, and their peers. This project fosters social emotional growth that will benefit my students for years to come.
