These books will help me to continue to create an art classroom that learns about and celebrates the world. As an art educator, my goal is to broaden the world views of my students through art, in hopes that they learn to be open, inclusive citizens of their community. Part of the way I do this is through books that cover a wide range of cultures and experiences. If we don’t get to talk about them in class, my hope is that they will at least see them through reading! Most of my little kiddos will never leave our state. It is important that I show them the world the best I can! I love to incorporate reading into our art projects and through free time, showing my kids that art and reading can go hand in hand.
