I teach special needs students in Paterson, New Jersey where the poverty level is extremely high, however, at my school we work hard to give the students the best, and expect the best in return. Our expectations are high but attainable! My students disabilities range from Autism to Communication, Vision and Learning Impaired. All of my students struggle with organization skills as well as the ability to work independently. It is important that I maintain routine and structure in the classroom. My students are always happy, but their home lives are not consistent. It is important to me that they know I will always be there for them, and that I am able to teach them independence in the classroom as well as meet their individual needs and help them grow. I believe in each and every one of them and know they are capable of greatness! I love my job and wouldn't change it for a million dollars!
