The books I have specifically chosen are to help my students grow socially and emotionally. Many of my students have experienced hardships and trauma in their lives. These books will help my students feel included, encouraged, and motivated. I plan to use these books not only as read aloud, but as mini lessons with focusing on inclusion and healing.
The majority of my students come from low-income families. Your donations will help supply them with some of the basic school supplies needed in classroom. These include zipper pouches and pencils.
I will use the Spek magnet balls as a sensory item for students that need "take a break" and use it as a stress release. I will use the pocket chart to hold the students earbuds that were provided by our school. The different color Positive Sayings Carpet Markers will be used as a desk marker for students. Teaching during a pandemic has required teachers to move desks apart and spaced out as much as possible. These Carpet Markers will allow me to keep students aligned in the area. I have also included some "back to school" items that my class has needed. These items include a USB Hub so students can plug in their devices when they are working at a center. I have also included two Paper Tray stands that will be used in centers that will contain the students work that they are to complete daily. I will use those throughout the room. The Legiliner will be used when we are doing projects that require students to illustrate and write on the same page. I will be able to easily add writing lines on their paper.
