Getting some flexible seating options in my classroom will make a huge difference because it promotes student choice and teamwork. Flexible seating will allow students to get up quickly and easily pair up and work in small groups. Flexible seating has also been known to keep young minds more alert and focused. It encourages students to find their best spot to stay calm, focused, and productive. This is something my classroom needs. I want to be able to offer them more choice and awareness of what THEY need in order to be successful in the classroom. Flexible seating sharpens higher order thinking skills, like emotional and problem-solving skills and conflict resolution. This would be so valuable for our classroom community.
