I asked my 7th grade students to name one thing that we need in our class and they unanimously answered: Good BOOKS! (Not computers or technology!) Currently the students read from beat up text books that are filled with outdated stories that they find dull. To make matters worse, our school library does not have any books suitable for our 100+ middle years students. Due to limited school funds and a large school district deficit, the library is almost bare with the exception of early readers for the K-2 students. Middle years students never use the library.
