With this project, I would like to begin my journey to become a National Board Certified Teacher. I am requesting assistance with funding of the registration fee and the first of four components that must be completed in order to receive certification. "91% of teachers engaging with the National Boards standards reported that it had a direct impact on their instructional practices." ~NBPTS Students everywhere deserve teachers that are committed to furthering their education to reach every student no matter their race, socio-economic background, learning style, or behavior. Every child has the right to equal opportunities and teachers that are willing to meet the needs of every child. I work hard to be able to provide this for my students but also know that there is room to grow. The certification process will allow me to reflect upon and grow in current practices within the components of content knowledge, differentiated instruction, teaching practices, and effective and reflective teaching. My goal as an educator is not just to enrich their learning within classroom, but to also create life-long learners that believe in themselves. Reaching the needs to every child both educationally and emotionally will benefit students for a lifetime and I believe that becoming a National Board Certified Teacher will help me accomplish that goal. Currently, I am a mentor teacher to new and student teachers. Being in this role allows me opportunities to help others in the areas of lesson planning, classroom management, time management and much more. I believe that being a NBCT will also help me to become a better mentor to my peers. The knowledge gained from the process can be passed along to other professionals, thus leading to more successful students. Thank you for your consideration in this project as I look forward to the journey.
