Teaching at a charter has many advantages, but teaching at an urban charter school serving predominantly low-income families and minority youth has all the advantages a driven teacher can think of. My students and families show so much appreciation and interest in learning in even the smallest things. They have so many questions and I don't have all the answers, but to them I do. My CA second graders are motivated and although sometimes, their parents may not have all the resources, they all "try their BEST." They can't go wrong if they always try their best and I remind them of that every day, when I don't, they remind me.
