I am trying to build a library in my classroom to promote literacy and a love of reading amongst my students. Some of my best memories of elementary school are reading-related, and I want to foster a culture of reading that hopefully can bring my students as much (or more!) joy as it brings me. I have compiled a list of books that are appropriate for my students and their reading levels, and cover important topics that I hope to teach during the school year. I also want to make reading fun and encourage them to read more for enjoyment! Helping students begin to learn that reading is fun is perfect way to build better readers.
