My students are an amazing group of kids. Despite their low economic backgrounds and some tough family situations, each and every one comes to school each day ready to learn and with a smile on their face. I try to give them as much love and kindness that I would give my own children. Children growing up in poverty and disadvantage are statistically less likely to do well at school. This feeds into disadvantage in later life and in turn affects their children. To break this cycle, we need to address the attitudes and experiences that lie behind social differences in education. I try to make sure that my students always know that they are loved and cared for, and in return, I feel like they respect me as a teacher, and try their best at everything they do.
