Teaching kids about rhythm and steady beat is always an exciting opportunity for a music teacher, but with these KidStix StickStations (inspired by the book "KidStix: Rockin' Repertoire Rhythm Readiness" by Artie Almeida), we'll be able to explore these in a brand new way. EACH student in my class will get their own materials to have opportunities to play together.
Having the ability to give each student their own KidStix StickStation will allow for independence and extra practice! The metal buckets will be used as their drum, with foam put on the bottom of the bucket for quieter drumming. The drum sticks will be used to practice rhythms and steady beat. The Dry Erase Boards will serve as multi-purpose with a way to practice writing rhythms, answer questions, and practice writing skills but also serving as a BeatBoard to play on. The tambourines finish out the kit to give another timbre to our musical sounds!
Your support for this project will help our students rock out and help foster a lifelong love of music throughout this year and beyond!
