In the classroom, this should be facilitated through, within, and around academic and artistic content. Because each student learns in a new way from those past and those to come, instruction of such content must be differentiated, scaffolded, and accommodated to fit the individual's and the group's learning needs. On a quest for knowledge, one should feel emotionally safe and mentally challenged. Lessons should always engage the visual, kinesthetic, and auditory senses. Every student, young or old, has the right to and deserves the privilege of a quality education. The role of the teacher is to create and honor this environment in order to nurture the growth of passions. Every day, in the classroom, this is my mantra.
