We are surrounded by technology every day. We use it to communicate and learn. In my class, the children would be using this iPad to become presenters, programmers, musicians, explorers, researchers, and writers. I want to incorporate technology in the classroom as much as I can. The children will be using the iPad when creating their own Small Moment in the beginning of our year. They will be able to sketch their stories out on paper first, and then use the recording app to tell their story out loud. We will be able to listen to the stories in their voice—as the author intended. I also have independent research projects that I assign throughout the year to students that are able to be very independent with their learning. They will be able to use the different apps, along with children friendly search engines to create a presentation for the class. The iPad can take these children on a journey that other tools cannot do.
