As a new teacher, I do not have the supplies to maximize learning in my classroom. What we are lacking in class is books that make reading fun and relatable for my students. Many of my students are from low income households and do not have many books at home. I want to give those students the opportunity to fall in love with reading at school with an amazing classroom library. Every child deserves books with characters they can relate to and stories that interest them. My goal as a teacher is to make sure all of my students leave my class with a positive school experience and knowing how amazing reading can be. These books will be used in all subjects including reading, social studies, science and social-emotional learning.
