These materials will make a huge difference in my students' learning. I have many students who find it difficult to sit still, and this would be a great way for them to move some as they work. It is also just a comfortable, fun alternative to chairs. There has been much research about the benefits of flexible seating and I would love to implement it in my own classroom. It would give my students the freedom of choice as to where and how they sit, which in return would give them the chance to learn responsibility and accountability. It would also improve the overall comfort of our classroom. Sitting uncomfortably can easily distract and take a student's focus off of learning. Flexible seating also allows my students to collaborate more efficiently. It is ideal for working in small groups and pairing up. These are just a few of the advantages of flexible seating.
