Storyworks Jr makes a difference by giving students texts that are relatable and interesting, and thus easier to apply difficult standard concepts to their learning. Giving socioeconomically disadvantaged students who are academically low texts that are engaging fosters an enriched learning experience that produces more participation in the learning process. I have seen how students become engaged in the learning that is happening when previously using Storyworks Jr as it was provided by previous sites. My hope is to encourage a love and desire for reading through the use of this resource. Using a sample has already made my students excited to continue using the magazines as a method of enriching their learning.
