Hello there! My name is Ms. Garcia and I work at Barton Hill Elementary. This year I have twenty-one bright and energetic sixth grade students. While many of us in our classroom come from disadvantaged backgrounds we still love to learn math. We also love to write and learn more about the world around us. This year my goal as a teacher is to introduce STEM activities into our learning. I believe that by integrating STEM into our classroom students will not only learn about possible careers in science, technology, engineering an mathematics they can have when they grow up, it will also engage my students critical thinking and collaboration skills. Furthermore, it will also be beneficial in the language acquisition of many of my students who are struggling to master English as their second language.
