Nature or Nuture? A continuing debate that has been around forever. In this case, I would like my students to learn and understand nature while providing a nurturing environment in the area around our school. My students would like to focus more on nature and the wildlife around them. They want to learn about the smallest of life in our school neighborhood. They want to examine the birds who live in our neighborhood during the winter. They want to have a hands-on science experience that is based on their own environment. With these items, they can help feed birds here for the winter; help compost food waste, and examine how plants grow and thrive. Third grade is a time of wonder but also a time to impact their life forever. This is the purpose of this grant and the hope that this will affect their future involvement in the community.
