Being in the spectrum can be challenging. Sensory issues make daily life overwhelming and confusing. Doing basic tasks can take so much because of distractions, triggers, and overloads. By repeatedly practicing daily living skills and fine motor skills, the students of our room can progress towards their goals of independence. Doing exercises such as buttoning, zipping, buckling, tying, etc. will not only prepare them to dress all by themselves, but would also develop their fine motor skills. This also leads to better functional academic abilities. Ultimately, we aim to build a fine motor corner with beads, threading, twisting, etc. and a daily living corner where they can also practice pouring, spooning, unwrapping, etc.
