For some of my AP English students shopping for school supplies is their favorite part of the school year, but for many it is an impossible task and strain on their family's already minuscule financial resources. My students attend a low-income, neighborhood school in North Carolina. Help me make sure that none of my jazzy juniors should have to focus valuable attention on hunting down an imaginary pen or pencil when it's time to write because they're embarrassed to admit that they don't have what they need. These kids try their best to not let their situations or status affect their learning. My students are passionate about language, literature and composition and they deserve the very best.
