I work for a Title I school, where statically four out of ten students will graduate from high school and zero of the four will graduate from college. My students are being raised in single parent homes, by an aunt/uncle or grandparent. My students are very resilient as they do not allow their socioeconomic statuses to define their ability to succeed. My students are yearning for exposure and access to the resources afforded to other students in privileged areas. My school was placed on the closure list due to low enrollment last year. The students were so adamant to continue their education in the nurturing environment that my campus provides that the students rose to the expectation and closed the school year with 94% attendance. We are a campus that sets high expectations for our students. We share a common mission to provide excellence in all that we do with 100% NO EXCUSES to ensure the success of our students.
