Developmentally appropriate and inclusive books will support our diverse group of learners. These books are intended to spark conversations about the children’s cultures and communities while highlighting what makes each of them unique. When creating our class environment, it is important that my students see themselves represented throughout the classroom and within the materials, they learn and interact within the class. We will read the books in the classroom to support a lifelong love of reading. They also will be used to increase student engagement and enhance our print-rich learning environment.
