Keeping Calm in Kindergarten!
Funded Nov 1, 2021Thank you so much for contributing to my Kindergarten classroom project! It is such a crucial time in a students' educational journey.
My kindergarteners have really benefitted from having a well stocked "calm down corner" and has really helped them recognize and manage their emotions, which creates a great learning atmosphere for everyone!
Before students can be ready to learn, they must have their basic needs met and feel safe, happy, and healthy. These tools will help ensure they are set up for the best possible educational experience!”

Funded Nov 22, 2018Thank you all for your generous donations to my classroom project. My first graders get so excited when they realize just how much they can read, and the books requested will help students propel themselves into a world where they can read, understand, and enjoy a story - all at their own individual levels!
I can’t wait for them to use these books to build confidence and develop their reading skills, while cultivating a love for the magic of books!”

Funded Jan 26, 2018This is not my first project to be funded on here, but it is still just as magical as the first time.
Whenever the box arrives, my students always can't wait to find out what's in it. Especially having such big boxes for our new shelving units, they couldn't believe their eyes! We had a lot of fun sorting and organizing all of our math manipulatives and literacy materials into our new shelves with all the new bins we received. Now, each student has a "drawer" to use for all their materials and it keeps everything neat, organized, and easily accessible. Set-up and clean-up for stations are running so smoothly now that students are able to access all the necessary materials and know where they go, and it has really increased their independence!
Of course, the legos and play-doh were an immediate hit. We use them for our independent choice morning activities and we're doing an excellent job with taking turns, and setting up and cleaning up the activities ourselves.
The scoop chairs and small stools that I use for my table are wonderful, and allows these kids the wiggling they need in order to increase focus and just have fun and be comfortable! They love to use them during independent and partner reading, and there is enough for everyone in their small reading group to have one!
Your contributions will allow these students to build the foundational skills of independence, confidence, and taking ownership of their learning - which they will carry with them throughout their entire school careers!”

Funded Sep 20, 2017Thank you so much for your generosity to help provide my Kindergarteners with supplies! We use some or all of these supplies daily and my students are always excited to use them. As far as small group activities both designed for learning or free-play, the magic boards, magnetic story boards, Wikki Stix, and the fine motor tool sets really keep students engaged while working on key literacy skills such as letter identification and sentence building.
The clear-view tracing boards have been a real game-changer in my classroom, allowing students to work on their handwriting and complete activities without wasting paper - and making it FUN! My students' writing skills have greatly improved now that we're all able to circle up on the carpet with clipboards to work on our writing. Students can get comfy, be close to the board for instruction, and everyone is visible to me so I can easily track progress and see who needs more support. The bigger pencils and grips are perfect for little hands and have really made a difference for my students who struggled with holding a pencil correctly. With our privacy boards, or "writing offices" as we call them, our monthly writing prompt is so much fun, as we can pick a spot around the room, get comfortable, and block out all distractions as we work on our writing.
Writing has always been a passion of mine, and now with these supplies I can help instill a love of writing for my kindergarteners as well, that I hope they will carry with them through their lives.”

Hands-On Phonics Fun!
Funded Mar 29, 2016I'd like to thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom!
When the box arrived my kindergarteners didn't know what to expect, and as I unpacked the materials, you would have thought these kids just hit the lottery! The materials I requested help students with letter formation, letter recognition, and with the letters I have them practice their sight words and use them to sound out words. Because of these hands on materials, phonics is no longer a daunting, frustrating task for many of my students.
My students now look forward to using these materials for word work during literacy. Their handwriting, letter recognition, letter-sound correspondence, and spelling of sight words has all improved, as well as their motivation and enthusiasm!
It is because of the generous donations from this website that my kindergarteners are able to thrive and succeed at such a critical time in a child's educational career!”

Mrs. DeSalvo
