Many of my students are struggling reader so reading and comprehending the textbook is difficult. These lab items will provide my struggling readers an opportunity to interact with the concepts in a meaningful way. Learning through hands-on exploration helps my students cement the concepts by filling in any gaps to ensure mastery. We are currently in our energy unit and showing the students how to create an electric circuit would be a good culminating lab. The next unit. The triple beam balance will be used help students understand how to read the scale and find the differences in weights of objects.
