My school is located in a hillside community by the ocean in Southern California's South Bay region. My students come from a wide variety of socioeconomic backgrounds. Some of the students entering my math class are excited to delve further into math while others are skeptical and feel intimidated. Class sizes are usually maxed out with 36 students per period. With classes so large it can be daunting as a teacher to make sure all students' learning needs are met. And as a student, you may feel too intimidated to ask questions. Using tools such as manipulatives and individual white boards students will be able to better interact with me and with each other during whole class and group work.
