I teach several very different subjects in my classroom. I teach Stagecraft, my students and I create scenery and props for the school shows as well as projects pertaining to many theatrical backstage jobs. I tell the kids we can experiment with projects that have to do with anything backstage that they are interested in but no acting or directing. We might do props, scenic art, set design, special effects. I also have Ceramics classes where the kids are creating both functional and non functional ceramic pieces. So there is clay and glaze and the kids learn how to create using earthenware clay. Then there are students taking my Crafts 1 & 2 classes. These students create Jewelry, they make baskets, bind books, we work in a variety of Craft arts. With such a variety of work going on in one room it takes a great deal of planning and organization so that creativity doesn't turn into chaos.
