Unique times call for unique solutions! It is time to get creative. Students at our school will be starting the year completely virtual from home, with the hope that we will transition back to the classroom as soon as it is safe. Everyone is working to make this fall as positive as possible for our students, and trying to create whatever sense of normalcy we can. In a Montessori classroom, hands-on learning is essential, which is why we need to recreate Montessori materials for students to use at home. “He does it with his hands, by experience, first in play and then through work. The hands are the instruments of man’s intelligence.” — Maria Montessori Especially at the Children's House (K3-K5) level, students need concrete examples from which to learn. We will use the Cricut machine and tools, the vinyl decals and cardstock paper to make individual versions of familiar Montessori materials for the students to use at home. This will include sandpaper letters, the pink tower, color matching, botany, geography, and more. While nothing can replace the experience of the classroom, we hope to bring a little slice of the classroom home to students!
