As a first year teacher, I am trying to gather some things I need to build a classroom community for my future students. I have included some supplies and tools that I feel would be essential to a classroom. The supplies listed will be used to set up my classroom for the first time. I will be working as a fourth grade math and science teacher at a title I school. I want to create a classroom environment that is safe, fun and organized. I want my 4th graders to be able to be independent in the classroom and have the tools too be successful. I have several social and emotional learning items. I want to teach students about accountability, responsibility and other social emotional skills. Classrooms are for more that just learning about academics. Also, there are some math games (Splat) for the students to play and math books. I have included a few flexible seating options for students, there will be choice seating in the classroom. Some of the flexible seating options allow students to sit on on the floor, that is the reason for the clipboards. I like interactive teaching and I want every child to have their own whiteboard throughout the year. I want to give them everything they need, I just need a little help.
